Things Boomers Do or Did

Phone numbers – you would have to remember your friends’ phone numbers, write them down in a little notebook or go look them up in the white pages

Smoking – people would smoke at work, on buses and on planes

Photos – You would load film into your camera. After you have taken 24 or 36 pictures, you rewind the film into its cassette and then either mail the cassette off or take it to a photo shop. After about a week you received pictures printed on paper and strips of negatives.

Music – if you heard something you liked on the radio or tv you would have to get your portable cassette recorder out and record it. Or go to the record store and buy the song on vinyl.

TV – if you wanted to watch the latest episode of any show, you had to be there in front of the tv at a set time on a set day each week. Later, you could set your video recorder to record a show (and hope that you get the whole show!)
